$HPE pulled up 5 points in a day, hitting a price of 49.2, with a volume of 970,000 U, which isn’t small. But don’t be fooled by this bullish candlestick. We’re in a classic high-volatility TradFi market, with a position of 5826 contracts and a funding rate of 0.00028656, which is a bit eye-watering. The bulls are pushing up while paying interest, and that cost can be particularly painful in a choppy or sideways market.

Trump just hinted at using tariffs as leverage, and the military and server supply chains are back in the spotlight. Geopolitically, the issues between the US and the Houthis are still simmering, and in this environment, HPE, as an enterprise hardware play, experiences naturally amplified volatility. The problem is, the rise + positive funding structure feels more like an emotional push rather than a healthy trend. The funding rate will feel like hot oil, and if new money doesn’t step in to support it, profit-taking could trigger a cascade. I’m not interested in going long at this position; it feels more like a setup for a short.

My stance is quite clear: bearish. I’m looking to short around 49.5 with 5x leverage and will set my stop-loss just above 50.3; if it breaks the previous high, I’ll accept that. My first take-profit target is at 47.8, which is a liquidity support zone. I’ll enter with half my position and keep the other half to guard against a spike. If it really breaks below 47.8, I’ll add to my position and push for further take-profits downward.
