🚨🚨🚨Facing 18 counts of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and money laundering, each carrying a maximum sentence of 20 years.
The duo allegedly defrauded investors through their cloud mining operation, which sold computing power for cryptocurrency mining. Following an extensive investigation by US and Estonian law enforcement agencies, Turogin and Potapenko were arrested in Estonia in November 2022.
The Estonian government has approved the extradition of HashFlare co-founders Ivan Turogin and Sergei Potapenko to the United States.
The Estonian government initially approved the extradition in September but temporarily halted it in November. The latest decision comes after gathering evidence on detention conditions in the US to ensure fundamental rights are duly considered.
