1️⃣ Cornell University has approved a Bitcoin scholarship program. The first to choose this specialty in the College of Arts and Sciences at the university was student Ella Howe. The program will cover a wide range of subjects: from psychology to history.
2️⃣ Sotheby's sold an Ordinals recording for $254,000. It was a digital image of Genesis Cat by Taproot Wizards artist Francisco "FAR" Alarcon. The sale price was more than 12 times higher than the estimated value of the lot, which ranged from $15,000 to $20,000.
3️⃣ In Uzbekistan, they can now be imprisoned for illegal mining. The country's president signed a law that amends the administrative and criminal codes. It tightens penalties for violations such as illegal mining, exchange and sale of cryptocurrencies without a license. Violations will be subject to administrative arrest for up to 15 days or a fine from $550 to $825 with confiscation of crypto assets. In case of a repeated crime or a crime committed on an especially large scale, the fine can reach $11,000, and the restriction of freedom can last up to three years.
