BlockBeats reports on September 24 that stablecoin startup Bastion announced it has completed a $14.6 million financing round, led by Coinbase Ventures, with participation from Sony's venture capital division, Samsung's venture capital division, a16z's crypto division, and Hashed.
Bastion co-founder and CEO Nassim Eddequiouaq refused to specify the valuation at which the startup raised new funding.
It is reported that Bastion is a white-label stablecoin issuer, allowing companies to issue their own branded stablecoins without needing to hire lawyers for regulatory permits or developers to write code, simply through Bastion. Bastion differentiates itself from competitors, including established companies like Paxos and emerging companies like Agora, with its complete suite of stablecoin services. This suite includes a crypto wallet for customers to hold tokens, as well as channels to exchange stablecoins for cash in 70 countries, including the United States.
