The fear and greed index reflects the mood of participants in the cryptocurrency market.
0–25 → strong fear (the market is panicking).
26–49 → fear (participants are cautious).
50 → neutral.
51–74 → greed (the market is rising, FOMO).
75–100 → strong greed (often before a correction).

The chart shows that the index moves along with the price of Bitcoin and trading volumes.
How this relates to the altseason index (Altseason Index, currently 71) that I wrote about here
The altseason index shows how much altcoins (non-BTC) are growing relative to Bitcoin.
Value > 75 → altseason (alts significantly outperform BTC).
Value < 25 → Bitcoin dominates.
Value around 50 → balance.
The current level of 71 means that the market is already shifting in favor of alts, but it just fell short of a full 'altseason' (75+).
Connection with Fear & Greed:
When the fear and greed index is neutral/greedy, traders are more willing to take risks → capital flows into altcoins.
Therefore, in a neutral/greedy market, the altseason index tends to rise more often (as it is now, 71).
If there were fear (<40), investors would cling to Bitcoin and stablecoins, and altcoins would decline → altseason would be impossible.
As a result... the market is in a phase of transition to altseason.
If the sentiment (Fear & Greed) goes into the greed zone (60–70+), capital will likely flow even more into alts → altseason will develop. If the index falls back to fear (<40), priority will return to Bitcoin and stablecoins, and alts will be weaker.#Write2Earn #BinanceSquareTalks #Binance
