Experts note an abnormally high level of competition in the Russian labor market. On average, there are no fewer than ten candidates for one vacancy, which means that conditions are increasingly dictated by the employer rather than the job seeker. Even when applying for positions in small companies, the choice for candidates remains extremely limited.

The most intense situation has developed in consulting — up to 47 applicants per position. Slightly better, but still critical, are the conditions in media (up to 45 people per vacancy) and among top managers, where more than 30 specialists compete for one position.

At the same time, in sectors with difficult working conditions and low pay — retail and healthcare — there remains a shortage of personnel. Analysts warn that a reduction in business and hiring could exacerbate the imbalance in the near future.
