Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman commented that cryptocurrency regulation has become a major priority for several finance ministers and central bank governors from G20 countries. Crypto regulation is likely to be a hot topic for many to discuss during this year’s summit.
Sitharaman also said that crypto regulation may require a collective effort. There are many countries, such as the United States and the United Kingdom, that are working to implement their own cryptocurrency regulatory plans, and while this is all good and may be a positive step forward in her opinion, she believes that for cryptocurrency regulation to be truly effective and safe, every developed country needs to step in and participate in global regulatory initiatives.
