The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) has given the green light for the listing of the Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF (BTCO), making it the first-ever Bitcoin ETF to be approved by a major U.S. Exchange. The ETF, which is sponsored by Invesco, will provide investors with exposure to Bitcoin through a traditional investment vehicle, tracking the performance of the Bloomberg Galaxy Bitcoin Index. The approval follows a review by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and CBOE’s listing standards. The ETF is expected to begin trading on January 10, 2024, on CBOE BZX Exchange, Inc.
