SlowMist released its 2023 blockchain and anti-money laundering report, which showed that a total of 464 security incidents occurred throughout the year, with losses as high as US$2.486 billion, a 34.31% decrease from 2022. Among them, the DeFi field was the most attacked, with a total of 282 security incidents, accounting for 60.77% of the total incidents, but the loss dropped to US$773 million, a 62.73% decrease from 2022. The report also pointed out that a total of 117 RUG incidents occurred in 2023, with losses exceeding US$83 million. The Base ecosystem was hit hardest, with losses of US$32.5 million, followed by BSC, with losses of US$23.05 million. In addition, approximately 324,000 victims had their wallets stolen in 2023, with the amount stolen reaching $295 million.
