Binance is hiring a full-time lobbyist in Brussels to try to influence those regulating the crypto industry. The hiring push signals the growing importance of policy to major crypto companies as EU lawmakers seek to bring the industry under regulatory purview. A job ad posted on Binance's website says the policy communications director will be "responsible for shaping the communications narrative and running influential campaigns around corporate, regulatory and political developments affecting companies across the EU," citing blogs and social media efforts aimed at influencing policymakers.
The job will be based in Brussels full-time, unlike many other Binance positions which can be done remotely. The location will allow access to officials from the European Commission and the European Parliament who are responsible for proposing and agreeing new laws that could affect the crypto industry.
