Poof, co-founder of the on-chain NFT game EtherOrcs, announced on Twitter that he would stop developing EtherOrcs. Poof wrote: "EtherOrcs has always been free to mint and not profitable. When evaluating the financing path, the internal team found that projects like EtherOrcs are difficult for investors and venture capitalists to understand and are more in line with independent game development." Poof said that it will open up its art and contract as CC0 and hope others can build with its components. The team will continue to maintain and operate servers and core infrastructure wherever possible. The assets are still entirely on-chain, so there is still a great opportunity for the community to build upon the underlying assets and find new ways to participate in the project.
