According to Odaily Planet Daily, Irish technology company Intercom has parted ways with ChatGPT and chosen to work with OpenAI competitor Anthropic to lead its growth in the field of artificial intelligence-driven customer service.
Des Traynor, co-founder and chief strategy officer at Intercom, said that since integrating generative AI into customer service inquiries, the company has doubled the support volume it handles while keeping the size of its staff the same.
Intercom CEO Eoghan McCabe announced in May that the company would invest an additional $100 million into artificial intelligence capabilities and add 75 new jobs, with a focus on expanding its machine learning division.
Part of that investment includes working with Anthropic’s Claude to power its AI-powered Fin 2 customer service bot, rather than OpenAI’s Chat GPT, which powered the original Fin.
