According to PANews, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has expressed the need for an open decentralized protocol. He voiced his opinion on an unnamed platform, stating that such a protocol would be used for swiftly transferring assets from one Layer 2 (L2) to another L2. He also suggested integrating this into the default sending interface of wallets.

Buterin emphasized the importance of laying a solid foundation before becoming overly attached to any fancy gadgets. He pointed out that the biggest user experience issue at present is that the L2-verse does not feel 'like a unified Ethereum'. He acknowledged that it has improved significantly compared to a year ago, but it is still far from perfect.
