According to PANews, the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) proposed a formal ban on contracts betting on the outcomes of political events on Friday. The proposal was supported by three out of five commissioners. The public will have 60 days to comment on the potential rule. Currently, prediction platforms such as PredictIt, Polymarket, Zeitgeist, and Kalshi offer users the service of purchasing contracts related to the actual outcomes of events, including elections and policy-making.
