SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk predicts that humans will land on the moon within the next five years and on Mars within seven years, according to U.Today. This bold statement has sparked widespread discussion on social media, but many users are skeptical of his near-term predictions. Musk previously promised that humans will reach Mars and begin building a colony within five years, and he recently said that it will take about 20 years for a Martian colony to become self-sufficient.
Musk is well-known in the cryptocurrency community for being a big supporter of Dogecoin. As a result, SpaceX now accepts Dogecoin as payment for its lunar mission. In 2021, Musk announced on Twitter that SpaceX would send a real Dogecoin to the moon. Later, it was revealed that Musk was talking about the DOGE-1 mission that his company planned to send a satellite into lunar orbit. For this mission, SpaceX accepted payment in DOGE. However, for various reasons, the mission was not implemented in 2021 and was postponed. This year, SpaceX accepted another large payment in Dogecoin from Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC), the customer who originally ordered this mission. However, a new mission date has not yet been determined.
