The BNB Beacon Chain Mainnet is about to undergo its first sunset upgrade as part of the BC Fusion. The hard fork, an upgrade requiring all nodes to adopt it for continuation of service, will be effective from the block height of 373,526,985. Full node operators on the mainnet are required to upgrade to version 0.10.20 by 15th April 2024 at 6:00 AM UTC.

This is crucial information for both BNB/BEP2 Asset Holders and Full Node Operators:

- BNB/BEP2 Asset Holders: Instructions have been provided for moving assets from BC to BSC with the help of a detailed guide.
- Full Node Operators: It is mandatory to upgrade your full node to v0.10.20 and adopt the new binary and app.toml config file. In the [upgrade] module of the app.toml, add or update the FirstSunsetHeight to 373526985. Following this, restart the bnbchaind process. Should you miss the upgrade deadline, you will need to restore your node as per the instructions provided on the doc-site.

Important changes will arise due to this upgrade:

- Validator Operators: On the BC chain, validator management features, including validator creation and editing, will be deactivated.
- DeFi Protocols: HTLT features, which facilitate cross-chain atomic swaps between the BC Chain and other chains, will be disabled. Timelock features and Asset issuing features will also be disabled, meaning no new assets can be created on the BC chain.
