According to the Daily Planet, Terraform Labs filed documents with a Delaware court on Monday, questioning the SEC's objection to its payment of retention fees to Dentons U.S. LLC. Last week, the SEC asked the court to dismiss Terraform Labs' request to hire Dentons as its legal counsel on the grounds that the company paid $166 million in fees. The SEC claimed that part of this "suspicious" amount was transferred to "an opaque slush fund." Terraform Labs again asked for legal fees, saying that it was necessary to pay legal fees in response to SEC litigation and cooperate with the Department of Justice's investigation. The company believes that the SEC's objections are unfounded and should be rejected.
