According to PANews, Tether recently announced that it will ban wallets subject to US sanctions from using its stablecoin USDT. The new measures affect 161 Ethereum wallets, of which 150 wallets do not currently hold USDT, and the remaining 11 wallets hold a total of more than 3.5 million USDT tokens, one of which holds 97%. Blockchain detective ZachXBT has linked the address to the recent hacking of the gambling platform Stake. Since December 1, Tether has implemented controls on the secondary market to freeze activities related to sanctioned persons on the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list.
