According to Tech Crunch, Ordinals project Taproot Wizards announced that it has successfully raised $7.5 million, led by Standard Crypto, with participation from Geometry, Collider Ventures, StarkWare, UTXO Management, Bitcoin Frontier Fund, Masterkey and Newman Capital, and the valuation was not disclosed. This round of funds will be used to rebuild Bitcoin's "Wizard Village", symbolizing the desire to compete with major blockchains such as Ethereum and Solana.
Taproot Wizards aims to reawaken the culture of building and innovating on Bitcoin. The project has issued a limited edition of 2,121 wizard NFTs, a number that symbolizes the total supply of Bitcoin, 21 million. Currently, less than 1% of Taproot Wizards' Ordinals have been minted. Wertheimer said they release the cadence publicly to avoid hype, but instead hope to find people who are truly committed to the mission, rather than those who only care about JPEG.
