According to Foresight News: Ethereum Layer 2 network Taiko, based on zkRollup, will conclude applications for its first community grant program on August 31, 2023. All future grants will be awarded in the form of Taiko tokens, with 0.2% of the total token supply allocated for the initial community grant program. These tokens will originate from the Taiko treasury and will ultimately be owned and governed by the Taiko DAO/governance body.
Taiko states that grant categories include, but are not limited to:
1. Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP);
2. Proposer optimization;
3. Alternative design for Proposer-Prover token economics;
4. Proof markets;
5. Social/Information dissemination DApps;
6. Gaming;
7. AI integration;
8. Education and community.
