Proton: In the decentralized world of blockchain, governance is often a complex challenge. Traditional decision-making models do not always translate well to these new, distributed ecosystems. The $XPR Network Alliance was born - a transformative solution to this challenge. A governance body of more than 30 diverse organizations will serve as the steering committee of the XPR Network, ensuring that a wide range of stakeholders are heard and their interests are represented. As an independent entity, the Alliance will focus on maintaining the health, security, and forward momentum of the network.

This alliance is not just a passive advisory committee, but more importantly, it is an active governance mechanism with actual roles and responsibilities. The Alliance is involved in every important aspect of the XPR network’s operations, from vetting and admitting new block producers to overseeing grant applications and advising on code direction. It is a system of checks and balances that provides a structured yet flexible governance model that can both maintain stability and innovate in the rapidly evolving blockchain space.

Committee members come from different backgrounds and fields, ensuring a diversity of perspectives and expertise. In addition to core developer Metallicus, who is a lifetime member, each member serves a two-year term, after which new members are nominated and voted in, allowing new perspectives to join while maintaining continuity. As the XPR network continues to grow and attract more users, the role of the alliance in representing different chain stakeholders will become increasingly important. In a world where blockchain governance is still in the development stage, the $XPR Network Alliance is a robust and forward-looking model.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Metallicus - Core Developer Life Member

Responsibilities: Metallicus oversees the entire development process of the XPR network. From building the entire DeFi platform, including decentralized trading protocols, swap protocols, OTC trading, liquid payments, liquidity pools, liquidity mining, and decentralized lending protocols, to taking care of all the branding, infrastructure, and marketing of the XPR network .

2. Crypto Lions - Chain/Code

Responsibilities: Crypto Lions is mainly involved in the chain and code aspects. They oversee and maintain the underlying blockchain codebase, ensuring its performance and security are optimized.

3. EOSUSA - Block Producer (BP) review/acceptance

Responsibility: This role is critical to ensuring that drafters meet the technical and ethical standards set by the Alliance. EOSUSA is responsible for vetting and admitting new block producers, which is critical to the security and effectiveness of the network.

4. Proton NZ – Grant Review

Responsibility: Proton NZ is responsible for the grant proposal review process. They review applications for new grants, determining which ones align with the goals and values ​​of the XPR Network.

5. EOS Amsterdam - Grant Follow-up

Responsibilities: Amsterdam’s role includes following up on approved grants to ensure projects are on track. This role is critical to accountability and helps keep the community informed on the progress of various initiatives.

6. GenerEOS - Marketing/Contact

Responsibilities: GenerEOS is responsible for marketing and communications within the XPR network. They disseminate information through newsletters and other forms of content to keep the community engaged and informed.

The alliance operates in a symbiotic manner, with each role contributing to the larger goals of the XPR network - whether that is technology development, security, governance or community engagement. Given the complexity and diversity of the tasks at hand, each role is critical to the healthy operation and growth of the network.​

A heartfelt farewell to EOSUSA and a warm welcome to Alvosec

As we continue to evolve and grow, it’s important to acknowledge the critical roles played by our founding members. In this regard, we can’t help but think of the contributions of Michael of EOSUSA, who has been a valuable member of the XPR Network Alliance since its inception in 2020. His dedication to vetting and developing block producers has not only maintained operational standards within the network, but has also raised them. Michael’s work has been critical in shaping the XPR Network into what it is today – a robust decentralized ecosystem with strong governance and community engagement. As he gracefully steps down to make room for new perspectives, we can’t thank him enough for his vision, hard work, and commitment to the XPR Network.

We are pleased to introduce that taking over the flag from EOSUSA’s Michael is Misrad from Alvosec, who has been voted in by the current Board members. Alvosec has been very active and helpful within the XPR Network community, and their inclusion as a Council member is a testament to their initiative and capabilities. Consistent with the ethos of the XPR network, we take the active participation of our block producers very seriously. Those who show significant initiative, like Alvosec, will always be heavily considered for future candidates in the league. We are certain that Alvosec will continue to work as well as it did at EOSUSA and contribute to the future growth and governance of the XPR network.​
