The Sandbox Aims to Make India its Largest Market Through Joint Venture and Strategic Partnerships
Metaverse platform The Sandbox is targeting India as its largest market within the next two years. The company entered the country earlier this year through a joint venture with a local entity, making it the first subsidiary of metaverse gaming and venture capital giant Animoca Brands to do so. The goal is to create a diverse and inclusive world with no borders, bringing different regions together. The joint venture between The Sandbox and global venture accelerator Brinc led to the creation of BharatBox, a cultural metaverse hub for India that includes Bollywood. Despite regulatory challenges in India's crypto industry, The Sandbox is determined to expand in the country and is willing to engage with regulators. BharatBox has signed partnerships with 25 Indian companies and expects its collaboration with Indian exchange CoinDCX to bring in millions of new users, making India its largest market. The company is also exploring other Web3 solutions for the Indian market, such as ticketing and blockchain gaming.
