Well-known KOL with more than 90,000 followers - #NFT大神 said: "My computer was hacked and all the cryptocurrencies and NFTs were stolen." The incident originated from him using Google's search engine to download the open source video streaming software OBS. But instead of clicking on the official website, he clicked on a Google Ads ad that he thought was for the same thing. He realized he had been hacked after the attacker posted a series of phishing tweets on his account.
Then something even scarier happened. All his digital currencies and NFTs were stolen one after another, and phishing emails were sent to his Substack subscribers. He said that he lost not only his assets, but also his personal brand and trust. The loss of his key was mainly because he stored the mnemonic phrase of the hardware wallet Ledger on his computer as a hot wallet.
Here is a reminder for everyone:
1. Never trust software or apps downloaded from unofficial channels;
2. The mnemonic phrase must be saved offline. Do not take a photo or save it on your computer.
