Kasikornbank (K-Bank), Thailand’s second-largest bank, said it has acquired a 97% stake in the parent company of Thai cryptocurrency exchange Satang, which has been operating in the country since 2017, according to CoinDesk. The deal, valued at 3.705 billion baht (about $102.8 million), was done through a new subsidiary of K-Bank called Unita Capital, which is tasked with investing in digital asset companies, documents show. Upon completion of the transaction, Satang will be renamed Orbix. The new company will add three new subsidiaries, Orbix Custodian, Orbix Invest and Orbix Technology.
