🚨 Cryptocurrency ATMs Offline in US 🏧 Cryptocurrency ATMs Offline in US Over 1,200 cryptocurrency ATMs in the United States went offline in early March following the introduction of the Crypto ATM Fraud Prevention Act by Senator Dick Durbin. The Act aimed to combat fraud at crypto ATMs, coinciding with a surge in new installations in the US. Despite this, the global Bitcoin ATM network experienced a net decline of 1,100 machines in the first three days of March, with the US accounting for the majority of losses. The closures were partially offset by new installations in Europe, Canada, Spain, Poland, Australia, and Switzerland. Currently, the US hosts nearly 80% of all crypto ATMs worldwide, with Canada and Australia following behind. Durbin's proposed legislation seeks to protect users from scams, prevent fraud, and enhance law enforcement capabilities in tracking illicit transactions.
