According to Certik, a blockchain security company that detected the scam, AltLex managed to collect about $743,000 worth of Ethereum from unsuspecting victims who bought the fake token. Certik also reported that AltLex transferred the stolen funds to Tornado Cash, a decentralized privacy-preserving protocol that allows users to anonymize their transactions.
