- On October 18, the account promoted a fake airdrop campaign targeting users who met the previous distribution requirements.
- Pseudonymous on-chain investigator ZachXBT quickly warned via Telegram: "EigenLayer X/Twitter account is compromised; do not click on any links."
- Polygon Labs' Mudit Gupta also warned the same thing on X, insisting there was no new airdrop.
- Anti-scam platform Scam Sniffer shared screenshots of the since-deleted fake tweets.
- This is the second such attack since early October, following the $5.7 million unauthorized token sale incident.
