Techub News reported on the scene that on October 16, at the afternoon session of the ETHShanghai 2024 Summit, Mint Blockchain co-founder Shier Han, Gear Foundation developer Hangbiao, Morph developer relations Luka and others held a roundtable discussion on "Value Capture: What's the Next for L2?"

When talking about the problem of "Ethereum liquidity fragmentation", Shier Han, co-founder of Mint Blockchain, said that the liquidity between various L1s is also fragmented. If L2 such as Unichain can solve problems such as liquidity sharing and cross-chain automatic routing, it will be very beneficial to the Ethereum ecosystem.

He believes that each L2 will become an avatar of Ethereum, and they will not spend a lot of resources on infrastructure and ecology. In addition to the necessary infrastructure, the core development trend of L2 is to become an application chain and build its own special applications. Therefore, these L2s may not become a large ecological chain, but they will definitely become a powerful application chain. From a development perspective, driven by L2, Ethereum may develop into the world's largest crypto economy. Morph Developer Relations Luka also emphasized that in the next stage, all L2s must address interoperability issues and improve the practicality of on-chain applications, otherwise they will be eliminated in the Ethereum L2 competition.
