**News Flash: Waves Founder Unveils New Blockchain Protocol**

Waves founder Sasha Ivanov is set to launch a new blockchain protocol called Units, aiming to solve the interoperability issues plaguing the Web3 space. Speaking at the Future Blockchain Summit in Dubai, Ivanov highlighted the risks of centralized bridges, which have led to significant hacks like the Wormhole and Ronin incidents in 2022.

Ivanov emphasized that without interoperability, the blockchain ecosystem remains fragmented. Units will ensure that all blockchains created through the protocol are interoperable by default, eliminating the need for risky centralized bridges. This move is expected to enhance the efficiency and security of decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. The launch is scheduled for the end of October.
