Newport Council faces £500m lawsuit! 🎢 James Howells is fighting to get back 8,000 Bitcoins he lost in a hard drive that was thrown into a recycling centre in 2013. At its peak, the value of these Bitcoins was worth $646m.
Howells sees the lawsuit as a “last resort” to force the council to grant permission to dig. His team is offering to do the dig for free and share 10% of the Bitcoins found. 🚀
The council is opposing the dig on grounds of environmental permits and legal ownership. The case will be heard in December. Will the Bitcoins return?
