According to BlockBeats, on October 13, The Block reported that Ryan Salame, a former executive of FTX, has begun serving a sentence of seven and a half years in a prison in Maryland, USA.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, Salame, formerly co-CEO of FTX Digital Markets, was incarcerated at FCI Cumberland in Maryland as of Saturday morning. The prison is a "medium-security federal correctional institution with a minimum-security satellite camp." According to its website, the prison has more than 1,000 inmates.
On Thursday, Salame shared a post on LinkedIn that appeared to poke fun at his situation.
“I am excited to share with you that I will be starting a new position at FCI Cumberland: Inmate,” Salame posted.
