Delays and Ambiguities Fuel Discontent in Hamster Kombat and TapSwap
Success Stories in the Tap-to-Earn Space: Tapswap and Notcoin
Hamster Kombat, a popular tap-to-earn game on Telegram with 300 million users, announced a huge HMSTR token airdrop, claimed to be the largest in crypto history, with 60% of tokens reserved for its players.
However, the airdrop has been delayed due to operational issues, causing frustration among the community. Similarly, TapSwap’s Token Generation Event (TGE), scheduled for Q3 2024, is facing criticism for not providing a specific launch date, which is upsetting its users. Both platforms, despite their large user bases, are receiving backlash for unclear timelines on important events.
Delays and Ambiguities Fuel Discontent in Hamster Kombat and TapSwap
Hamster Kombat’s highly anticipated HMSTR token airdrop, initially set for this month, has been postponed. The team attributed the delay to significant operational challenges and has not provided a new date for the airdrop. They stated that the complexity of the airdrop, described as unprecedented in the blockchain world, makes it impossible to predict a specific timeline.
In addition to the airdrop delay, Hamster Kombat announced plans to wrap up Season 1 soon, but has yet to reveal details about the end date or the start of Season 2. This lack of clarity has led to frustration among users. “Announcing that there’s Season 1 and Season 2 mining without a definite date for ending the mining activities or listing is nasty work. After so many tasks, people will move on,” said X user Oreva.
Meanwhile, TapSwap, another major player in the tap-to-earn sector, is preparing for a significant milestone with its token generation event (TGE) planned for Q3 2024. TapSwap founder Naz Ventura emphasized that while the TGE will occur in the third quarter, an exact date has not yet been announced. “We’re focused on developing the best product and will announce the TGE date once all responsible parties have confirmed it,” Ventura explained.

This lack of precise information about the TGE has sparked similar frustrations among TapSwap users. “TapSwap is never straightforward, the TGE is taking years, and we have given up already. I don’t even open the mini app again. I’ve forgotten I have a TapSwap account,” a disgruntled TapSwap player commented. Both platforms face backlash from their communities due to these uncertainties surrounding important events.
Success Stories in the Tap-to-Earn Space: Tapswap and Notcoin
Tapswap has successfully attracted over 60 million users by offering an engaging and simple way to earn TAPS coins through in-game activities. Players can maximize their earnings by utilizing boosts and manually mining coins.
Similarly, Hamster Kombat has achieved notable success, following the trailblazing example set by Notcoin in the tap-to-earn genre. Since its launch, Notcoin has built a strong player base with its straightforward tap-to-earn mechanism, where players accumulate coins by completing tasks and using in-game enhancements.
In May, Notcoin conducted a massive airdrop of over 80 billion NOT tokens, valued at approximately $1 billion. This significant distribution underscores the financial potential within the tap-to-earn model and highlights the substantial rewards players can earn through active participation.
