Lido has temporarily suspended stETH deposits from Ethereum to the Optimism Mainnet to enable an upgrade. Operations are expected to resume around October 14th. 🎉

This upgrade will introduce rebasable stETH to Optimism, allowing users to earn daily staking rewards. It is part of LIP-22, proposed in March, which will improve the bridge experience and open up new opportunities.

Users will now be able to pay stETH gas, cross-deposit, and withdraw on Layer 1 and Layer 2. Central exchanges and services will also be able to support Layer 2 of the network, charging fees on each rebase. 🚀
