Techub News reported that according to Money Today, the National Pension Service Center of South Korea (NPS) clarified the previous report that it "purchased MicroStrategy shares to indirectly invest in Bitcoin" and said that investing in companies such as Coinbase and MicroStrategy is not for investing in cryptocurrencies, and "virtual assets such as Bitcoin are not investment targets." NPS said that the increase in holdings of the two companies' stocks was because they were included in the benchmark index tracked by NPS, and the stocks were purchased automatically.

Previously, Yonhap News Agency reported that the National Pension Fund of South Korea indirectly invested in Bitcoin by acquiring MicroStrategy and Coinbase stocks.
