**Legal Battle Against DOJ**

Four people have sued the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), demanding that more funds from a $4.3 billion settlement with Binance be transferred to the Victims of State-Sponsored Terrorism (USVSST) Fund.

**Binance’s Role and Violations**

The funds come from a November 2023 settlement between Binance and federal agencies after Binance admitted to violating U.S. sanctions and failing to implement anti-money laundering controls. Former CEO Changpeng Zhao resigned and paid a $50 million fine.

**Legal Dispute**

The plaintiffs claim that the DOJ violated the law by transferring less than the required amount to the USVSST fund, forcing them to ask the court to intervene. The fund has paid out more than $6 billion to victims of terrorism over the past nine years.

🔍 The lawsuit includes multiple high-profile agencies including the CFTC, the Treasury Department, and FinCEN.
