Golden Finance reported that USDC stablecoin issuer Circle Internet Financial released an upgraded version of its Web3 programmable encryption wallet on Thursday, which allows merchants to take over and pay customers’ transaction fees. According to a press release, the new feature, called “Gas Station,” allows businesses to leverage ERC-4337 payers to sponsor users’ gas charges — the cost of transferring money on the blockchain. Circle said the feature is initially running on the Polygon (MATIC) mainnet and testnet and the Ethereum (ETH) testnet, and will later be expanded to more blockchains.
