According to Foresight News, China News Network reported that the Yunlin District Prosecutor's Office in Taiwan recently cracked a fraud case in which the victim was defrauded of more than NT$134 million. The investigation of the case was concluded, 33 people were prosecuted, and two Kaohsiung police officers were found to be involved in the case. Last July, the police arrested a 30-year-old "driver" (meaning a person who helps fraudsters to withdraw fraudulent funds) who was suspected of using virtual currency for fraud. Later, the police arrested another 28-year-old "driver" Chen and applied to the local court for detention, which was approved. The prosecutor said that the case also found that the "driver" involved, Yu, was a member of the Mingren Club of the Bamboo Union Gang, and his boss, Wu, led dozens of Taiwanese "driver" groups and managed more than 40 virtual currency wallets. The prosecutor said that more than 20 searches were launched before and after the case, and more than 90 million yuan in cash and more than 50 million yuan in virtual currency were seized. The case prosecuted 33 people involved in the case for fraud, leaking secrets, forgery of documents, money laundering and other crimes.
