Golden Finance reported that according to Euronews, Hamas was ranked as one of the richest terrorist organizations in the world by Forbes in 2014, with an annual income of up to $1 billion. The main source of funds comes from taxes, financial aid and donations, and Iran is one of the major donors.
In 2022, Hamas was also exposed to have invested in developers in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Algeria and Sudan, earning more than US$500 million a year through real estate transactions alone; in addition, Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, froze hundreds of crypto accounts related to Hamas at the request of the Israeli authorities. According to the Wall Street Journal, these accounts have earned US$41 million in the past two years.
