Scotland has seized £110,000 worth of cryptocurrency from 29-year-old John Ross Rennie for the first time. It is the first time the Proceeds of Crime Act has been used to seize cryptocurrency as cash.
Rennie was convicted of handling stolen goods after a violent robbery in 2020. The court has deemed him the "technical brains" behind the operation.
In response to the rise of crypto crime in the UK, authorities have stepped up their efforts to confiscate digital assets. 🚔
