Kaia, the L1 network jointly built by Asia's two major communication giants Kakao and LINE, announced on Twitter that it has launched the mainnet at 10 o'clock this morning. The goal is to create an ecosystem that supports DeFi, games and Web3 applications through deep integration of communication software.
Kaia mainnet online
The announcement pointed out that Kakao and LINE's L1 blockchain Kaia has launched the mainnet at 10 am this morning, emphasizing that it will simplify the Web3 entry process for users, developers, investors and enterprises:
As the world's fastest EVM blockchain, Kaia has a transaction confirmation time of only 1 second, extremely low gas fees, and support from Asia's leading Web3 partners including Kakao and LINE NEXT.
The roadmap shows that Kaia’s official DeFi ecological entrance, Kaia Portal, and staking service Kaia Square will be launched one after another.
KAIA token code update
In terms of tokens, the Kaia team stated that it will confirm with CEX, DEX, DApp and wallet providers in the future, and simultaneously replace the previous "KLAY" tokens with "KAIA" to avoid user confusion.
It is reported that, as one of the first cooperative token issuers, HashKey Global announced a few days ago that it will launch Kaia tokens and start trading today, and will provide bonus activities.
Integration of the public chains behind Kakao and LINE
Chain News previously reported that Kaia was launched after the merger of two public chains, Kakao's Klaytn and LINE's Finschia, but the "PDT" token that was announced at the time has now been changed to "KAIA".
(LINE's public chain Finschia proposes to merge the main network with Klaytn and will issue a new currency "PDT")
It is reported that Kakao’s usage rate in South Korea is as high as 96%, and LINE is even more widely loved in Japan, Taiwan and Thailand, with an overall user base of more than 250 million people.
Obviously, Kaia is expected to solve the challenges of Web3 user experience and entry through deep integration with Kakao and LINE, and establish an ecosystem that combines DeFi, games, real assets (RWA) and Web3-based communication software Apps .
Kaia Wave Plan: Fully Support Developers and Accelerate User Adoption
At the same time as the mainnet was launched, the Kaia Foundation also cooperated with LINE's Web3 platform NEXT to launch a developer support program called "Kaia Wave", aiming to enable developers to use its NEXT WEB software development kit ( SDK ) to design projects or enhance user experience:
The Kaia Wave program will serve as a bridge between Asia and global Web3 partners, accelerating Web3 adoption and making Kaia the leading blockchain platform in Asia.
(Web3 company LINE NEXT raises US$140 million, and NFT platform DOSI will be available to global users)
In addition, the company also seems to have revealed its intention to create a DApp on LINE:
Leveraging Kaia's low transaction latency and account abstraction capabilities, developers can create a seamless user experience on the messaging app while expanding their reach among hundreds of millions of LINE users across Asia.
It added, “The program will provide each group of qualified development teams with US$1.2 million in marketing, technical and business funds, as well as benefits such as future token generation and liquidity support.”
