Former FTX employee Gary Wang said in court that cryptocurrency hedge fund Alameda Research had "special privileges" on the FTX platform, allowing it to use $8 billion in funds from the exchange's clients. Wang claims that FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried asked him to write code that would allow an Alameda account to have a negative balance, which was a secret feature not available to other clients. Wang is the first of three witnesses accusing Bankman-Fried of fraud.
