CoinVoice recently learned that on October 6, according to DL News, the Gitcoin DAO treasury sent 521,436 GTC tokens (currently about US$469,000) to the contract address of the protocol on September 29.

These GTC tokens, intended to fund the governance workflow, were mistakenly sent to the GTC token contract address, making these funds irretrievable.

The transfer of funds occurred after an on-chain governance vote in early September that approved funding for Gitcoin’s Merchandise, Memes, and Marketing (MMM) workflow. The vote passed, but a human error occurred during its execution, causing the funds to be sent to a contract address instead of a multi-signature wallet. [Original link]
