The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) persists in its charges against former FTX CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried, despite his objections regarding the absence of specific cryptocurrency regulations in the USA. The DOJ counters, arguing that the lack of regulations does not impact the fact that victims entrusted him with finances and that there are rules prohibiting the misappropriation of customer assets. Thus, it is valid to infer charges of fraud even without specific cryptocurrency regulations.
