According to the Circle announcement, Circle Research is a research organization committed to open source principles with the goal of contributing to the public interest and accelerating innovation in the fields of cryptocurrency, blockchain and Web3. Key research areas include cryptography, cryptocurrency standards, zero-knowledge proof technology and smart contract development.
Circle Research’s first protocol “Perimeter Protocol”
With the establishment of Circle Research, it also announced its first launched protocol, the Perimeter Protocol.
Circle Research stated that Perimeter Protocol is a set of smart contracts built based on open standards, designed to achieve seamless exchange of capital on a secure, open, and permissionless network. Through this protocol, real-world assets (RWA) and unsecured or low-collateral loans that meet underwriting and licensing standards can be brought into the public protocols offered by Circle.
Circle invites developers to study the Perimeter Protocol Github documentation and welcomes suggestions for updates or forks to the documentation.
