According to ChainCatcher news, U.S. federal prosecutors are seeking more information about political donations made by SBF and two executives who worked with it to Democratic and Republican lawmakers.
Since SBF's arrest, prosecutors have contacted "representatives of campaigns and committees who received millions of dollars from SBF and its associates." A prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York sent an email to a law firm representing a prominent Democratic political group requesting information about donations from SBF and its associates.
Additionally, campaign groups, large super PACs and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries received emails. It is reported that Jeffries and other politicians "either returned FTX-related donations or donated the money to charity" after the FTX scandal broke. (New York Times)
