According to TechFlow, the State of Wisconsin Investment Board increased its Bitcoin spot ETF holdings in the second quarter of 2024. According to the 13-F filing filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the committee increased its holdings of BlackRock iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) by 447,651 shares, bringing its total holdings to 2,898,051 shares, with a value of $98.9 million at the end of the quarter.
At the same time, the committee liquidated its previous $63.7 million holdings in Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC). Although IBIT’s holdings increased, the dollar value of its holdings actually decreased by $228,227 due to the price drop.
In addition, the committee also purchased 5,980 shares of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and 77,996 shares of bitcoin mining company Marathon Digital.
As of August 13, IBIT accounted for 58.8% of the Bitcoin spot ETF market share, ranking first, followed by GBTC with a 15.2% share.
