Japanese cryptocurrency exchange GMO will pay some traders who held XRP in 2020 the yen equivalent of Songbird (SGB) tokens.
- Users will receive Yen equivalent to 0.1511 SGB for every 1 XRP they had in their balance as of December 12, 2020.
- Songbird is an experimental blockchain network for the Flare Network, which was originally planned to be a decentralized financial application based on XRP tokens.
- Due to local legislation, some exchanges did not provide Japanese holders with the opportunity to participate in the airdrop.
- GMO will decide to pay out the Songbird airdrop to Ripple holders in Japanese yen.
- Funds will be credited to accounts until September 29, 2023.
