Futu Securities, Hong Kong's largest online broker, has begun offering cryptocurrency trading services to retail customers in the city.

- **Partnership with HashKey Exchange**: Futu has partnered with HashKey Exchange, one of two licensed cryptocurrency exchanges in Hong Kong, to provide Bitcoin and Ether trading services in Hong Kong Dollars or US Dollar.

- **Attractive offer**: Investors who open an account and deposit HKD 10,000 within 60 days will receive HKD 600 in Bitcoin, HKD 400 supermarket voucher or one Alibaba share. Deposit 80,000 HKD to receive 1,000 HKD Bitcoin or one Nvidia stock.

- **No commission**: Futu has eliminated commission fees for cryptocurrency trading from August 1 until further notice.

- **New platform development**: Futu is applying for a cryptocurrency exchange license for the PantherTrade platform, one of 11 platforms in Hong Kong that are "deemed licensed" to operate pending approval from SFC.

Hong Kong is striving to become a cryptocurrency hub, but faces many challenges such as the withdrawal of global platforms and low trading volumes. Authorities have increased monitoring and handling of fraudulent activities in this field. 🚀
