**Democrats Push for Pro-Crypto Stance Ahead of 2024 Election**

In a surprising move, 14 Democratic House members and 14 candidates running in 2024 have urged the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to adopt a more favorable stance on digital assets. This comes after Vice President Kamala Harris emerged as the prospective presidential nominee.

In a letter to DNC Chair Jaime Harrison, lawmakers like Ro Khanna and Ritchie Torres highlighted the party's "negative viewpoint" on digital assets, largely due to the SEC's current approach. They argued that this perception contradicts the party's progressive values and called for a "forward-looking approach" to blockchain technology.

The letter suggested that embracing digital assets could help reaffirm the U.S.'s leadership in the global digital economy. It also hinted that if Harris wins, she should consider appointing a "pro-innovation" SEC Chair to replace Gary Gensler.

As the 2024 election heats up, the Democratic Party's stance on crypto could become a pivotal issue, especially with Republican candidates like Donald Trump also weighing in on the topic.
