According to ChainCatcher, Avail has launched its data availability mainnet Avail DA and its native AVAIL tokens. AVAIL tokens are not only used to pay for data availability, but also to ensure network security through a staking mechanism. The project aims to optimize data availability and help developers build more scalable and cost-effective blockchains.
The total supply of AVAIL is 10 billion, of which 60 million have been airdropped to eligible participants. It is worth mentioning that Avail is led by Anurag Arjun, former co-founder of Polygon, and plans to launch the interoperability layer Nexus and the secure network layer Fusion. The launch of this new project may bring new development opportunities to the blockchain industry.
